Review

SOOoo.... I am always a little bit reticent when ‘new’ movies hop at a great pace into the top 250; leap frogging over long established movies in the list. But I’ll be honest , I can see why this movie has done exactly that. It is a dark comic movie, but I like it.
Considering the pretence of this movie, a vicious attack and murder on a young lady, this does not make the movie sombre and depressing, it is not the subject of the movie- it's about the moving forward and search for answers.  You get lots of glimmers of humour so it does not dwell or become melancholy. Exactly like you would in 'real' life.

Don't get me wrong it is a dark comedy, it has its ,moments of anger, dark twists and depression but again isn't this what life is about?

It's not all about an outstanding performance by one individual actor, like a lot of movies that do well in awards seasons. It's about impressive (can be we even say believable) performances by everyone involved. Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell stand out, but why no recognition for Harrelson and Cornish?

Well deserved wins at the Golden Globes I would say, and I hope it does well at the other awards ceremonies in the coming weeks and months and gets the recognition it deserves.
